Quatuors avec piano, op. 15 & 45
Album by Gabriel Fauré & Éric Le Sage & Lise Berthaud & François Salque & Daishin Kashimoto
Quatuors avec piano, Op. 15 and Op. 45 are the two piano quartets by French composer Gabriel Fauré, composed in 1876 and 1886. They belong to the chamber-music repertoire of the late Romantic period and chart a transition in Fauré's output from early Romantic influences toward his mature harmonic language, combining lyrical melodic writing with refined chamber textures, close interplay between piano and strings and subtle chromaticism.
