Sonatas for Piano and Violin is a set of chamber sonatas by Robert Schumann composed in the early 1850s (1851–1853). They combine Romantic lyricism, rich harmonic language and contrapuntal textures to create intimate yet dramatic music that foregrounds an equal partnership between violin and piano and represents an important phase in Schumann's chamber output.
