The Piano Quartets

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Emanuel Ax & Isaac Stern & Jaime Laredo & Yo‐Yo Ma

The Piano Quartets are a set of chamber works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1785 and 1786. They blend classical-era chamber textures with a prominent piano role and close interplay between piano and strings, occupying a transitional place in Mozart's output as early examples of the piano quartet genre that helped shape later chamber writing.
