Symphonies 6, 7, 8

Album by Joseph Haydn & Florilegium

Symphonies Nos. 6, 7 and 8 are a set of early symphonies by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, composed in 1761. They exhibit early Classical orchestral writing characterised by clear textures, lively rhythmic gestures and notable wind writing, and they occupy an important place in Haydn's early career as he developed the structural and expressive features that would define the Classical symphony.
