Piano Concertos No. 2 & No. 4
Album by Ludwig van Beethoven & Barry Douglas & Camerata Ireland
Piano Concertos Nos. 2 and 4 are piano concertos by Ludwig van Beethoven, composed in 1795 and 1806 respectively. They exemplify Classical-era concerto form with prominent orchestral–piano dialogue and virtuosic solo writing, with the earlier work rooted in Beethoven's youthful Classical influences and the later concerto exhibiting expanded harmonic language and a more symphonic conception that points toward his middle-period output.
