Complete String Quartets is the cycle of six string quartets by Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, composed between 1908 and 1939. The works chart his evolution from early folk-influenced modernism to later, more dissonant and expressionistic writing, combining folk rhythms and modal inflections with advanced harmonic, rhythmic and extended techniques, and they occupy a key place in his chamber music output and in 20th-century repertoire.
