Ein Sommernachtstraum is a set of incidental music by German composer Felix Mendelssohn, composed in 1842 and first performed in 1843. The score features lyrical orchestral writing, light-textured woodwind and string colours and choral passages typical of the Romantic era, and it represents one of Mendelssohn's mature stage works that occupies a prominent place in 19th-century concert and theatre repertoire.
