The Piano Quartets

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Susan Tomes & Richard Hosford

The Piano Quartets are a set of chamber works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1785 and 1786. They are scored for piano, violin, viola and cello, with the piano given a prominent role alongside conversational writing for the strings, and they were written after Mozart had composed major opera and keyboard works as he turned to chamber forms.
