Slavonic Rhapsodies, op. 45 / Suite for a Large Orchestra in A major, op. 98b
Album by Antonín Dvořák & Janáčkova filharmonie Ostrava & Dennis Burkh
Slavonic Rhapsodies, Op. 45, and the Suite for a Large Orchestra in A major, Op. 98b are orchestral works by Czech composer Antonín Dvořák, composed in 1878 and 1887 respectively. Both pieces draw on Bohemian folk rhythms and melodies, employing colourful orchestration and dance-like rhythms that illustrate Dvořák's nationalistic style and mark a period in which he consolidated his mature orchestral voice.
