Twilight of the Gods
Album by Richard Wagner
Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods) is the final opera in Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen cycle, first performed in 1876. Musically it is characterised by expansive orchestration, dense harmonic language and extensive use of leitmotifs to conclude the Ring cycle, occupying a central place in Wagner's development of music drama and 19th-century operatic practice.
