The End of an Ear is Robert Wyatt’s debut solo album, released in 1970 whilst he was still in Soft Machine, exploring avant-garde jazz, free improvisation and the Canterbury scene’s experimental tendencies. It features non-lexical vocals treated as instruments, tape manipulation and contributions from fellow Canterbury musicians.
