Symphony No. 6 in F major, Op. 68, "Pastoral" is a symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven, completed in 1808. The work is programme-driven, depicting rural scenes through lyrical themes, rustic rhythms, prominent woodwind writing and varied orchestral colour, and it occupies a central place in Beethoven's middle period as an early exploration of explicitly descriptive orchestral writing.
