Symphony no. 6
Album by Nikolai Yakovlevich Miaskovsky & Академический симфонический оркестр Московской филармонии & Государственный академический русский хор имени А. В. Свешникова & Kirill Kondrashin
Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Nikolai Myaskovsky, composed in 1921. Rooted in the late-Romantic Russian orchestral tradition, the work features sombre, often introspective themes, rich chromatic harmonies and expansive orchestration that reflect the composer's response to the turmoil of the post-World War I and early Soviet period, and it marks a consolidation of his mature symphonic voice within his broader output.
