Symphonie fantastique
Album by Hector Berlioz & Nemzeti Filharmonikus Zenekar & János Ferencsik
Symphonie fantastique is a programme symphony by French composer Hector Berlioz, composed and first performed in 1830. A hallmark of early Romantic orchestral music, it employs expanded orchestration, vivid colour, dramatic contrasts and a recurring idée fixe to portray an extended programme, and it established Berlioz's reputation while influencing subsequent developments in Romantic orchestral writing.
