Album by Jean Sibelius & Soile Isokoski & Raimo Laukka & DR SymfoniOrkestret & Danish National Radio Choir & Leif Segerstam
Kullervo is a large-scale symphonic work by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, completed in 1892. Rooted in the Kalevala epic, it is scored for orchestra, male chorus and soloists across five movements and combines folk-influenced motifs with late-Romantic orchestration, occupying a significant place as an early large-scale composition that presaged Sibelius's later symphonic development.
