The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Zagrebački solisti & Antonio Janigro & Jan Tomasow
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. Written in the Baroque style, the concertos employ programme elements and virtuosic violin writing to evoke seasonal scenes, and they occupy an important place in Vivaldi's output and in early 18th-century concerto repertoire for their role in the development of the solo concerto and programme-based instrumental music.
