12 Fantasias for Solo Flute

Album by Georg Philipp Telemann & François Lazarevitch

12 Fantasias for Solo Flute is a collection of twelve solo-flute works by the German composer Georg Philipp Telemann, published in 1732. Rooted in the Baroque idiom, the pieces employ melodic invention, sectional contrasts and contrapuntal elements adapted for unaccompanied flute, exploring a variety of moods and dance-derived rhythms and representing Telemann's contribution to the solo instrumental repertoire of the early 18th century.
