A Sea Symphony is a choral symphony by English composer Ralph Vaughan Williams, first performed in 1910. The work combines large-scale orchestral forces with chorus and soloists, employing modal melodies, pastoral orchestration and expansive harmonic language drawn from English folk and cathedral traditions, and it stands as Vaughan Williams's first symphony and an important early statement in his mature compositional style.
