Album by George Frideric Handel & Joan Sutherland & Peter Pears & Owen Brannigan & George David Galliver & St. Anthony Singers & Philomusica of London & Sir Adrian Boult

Acis and Galatea is a pastoral masque (often described as a secular cantata) by George Frideric Handel, composed in 1718. The work combines Italianate arias, choral numbers and pastoral instrumentation characteristic of Baroque theatrical music, representing a key example of Handel's early English vocal writing and his engagement with the pastoral genre.
