String Quartets 1 & 2
Album by Alexander Porfyrevich Borodin & The Shostakovich String Quartet
String Quartets Nos 1 and 2 are string quartet compositions by Russian composer Alexander Borodin, composed in 1874 and 1881. They feature lyrical lines and rich harmonic writing that draw on Russian folk material within a Romantic chamber music style, and they come from the middle and later part of Borodin's output where he combines national elements with classical quartet forms.
