The Creation is an oratorio by Joseph Haydn, completed in 1798 and first performed in 1798–1799. Written in the Classical style, the work combines orchestral writing with solo vocalists and chorus to depict the biblical account of creation and represents a major late-career large-scale sacred composition that exemplifies Haydn's mature choral and orchestral technique.
