Sinfonia n. 6 in La minore
Album by Gustav Mahler & Philharmonia Orchestra & Sir John Barbirolli
Symphony No. 6 in A minor is the sixth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1904. The work is a late-Romantic orchestral symphony characterised by dramatic contrasts, prominent brass and percussion writing and a broadly tragic trajectory, and it occupies a central position in Mahler's middle-period output, exemplifying his move toward denser orchestration and more overtly dramatic forms in early 20th-century symphonic music.
