Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894 and premiered in 1895. The large-scale late-Romantic work employs expansive orchestration, wide dynamic and timbral contrasts and a concluding choral movement, reflecting Mahler's shift toward integrating vocal forces into symphonic form and influencing the development of early 20th-century symphonic music.
