Piano Concerto No. 1 and The Nutcracker Suite (for two pianos) are works by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, composed in 1874–1875 and 1892 respectively. The concerto is a Romantic piano work with broad, lyrical themes and demanding piano writing, and the suite adapted for two pianos turns ballet dances into vivid, dance-like movements; both pieces reflect Tchaikovsky's emphasis on melody and orchestral colour in his mature output.
