Clarinet Concerto / Clarinet Quintet
Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Richard Stoltzman & Tokyo String Quartet & English Chamber Orchestra
The Clarinet Concerto and Clarinet Quintet are works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1791 and 1789 respectively. Both exemplify Classical-era concerto and chamber writing with lyrical clarinet lines, transparent orchestration and balanced formal structures, and they come from the final years of Mozart's career where they helped to expand the clarinet's solo and ensemble repertoire.

First released: 10th September 1991
