Symphony No. 4 'Romantic' is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, completed in 1874 and later revised. The large-scale Romantic work is characterised by expansive orchestral textures, prominent brass writing, rhythmic contrasts and programme-like pastoral and heroic elements, and occupies a central place in Bruckner's middle-period output as he developed his monumental symphonic architecture.
