Symphony No. 1 "Titan" is a symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in the late 1880s and first performed in 1889. The work is cast in a late-Romantic orchestral style with textures that range from intimate to massive and frequent abrupt mood shifts, and it was Mahler's first numbered symphony that drew on folk and song sources as he moved from Lieder to large-scale orchestral writing.
