London Symphonies nos. 101 "The Clock" & 102

Album by Joseph Haydn & La Petite Bande & Sigiswald Kuijken

London Symphonies Nos. 101 and 102 are symphonies by Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, composed in 1793–1794. They exemplify Haydn's mature Classical-period symphonic style, marked by clear formal structures, inventive thematic development, varied orchestral colour and distinctive rhythmic character, and form part of his late London symphonies that consolidate his late-career contributions to the symphonic genre.
