Symphony No. 4 In E Minor, Op. 98

Album by Johannes Brahms & Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern & Stanisław Skrowaczewski

Symphony No. 4 in E minor, Op. 98 is the fourth symphony by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1885. A late-Romantic work rooted in classical forms, it features dense orchestration, rich harmonic language and rigorous developmental technique with a finale constructed as a set of variations reminiscent of a passacaglia, and it represents the culmination of Brahms's symphonic output and an example of his mature style.
