Symphonie N°2 en Ré Majeur Opus 73

Album by Johannes Brahms & London Philharmonic Orchestra & Wilhelm Furtwängler

Symphony No. 2 in D major, Op. 73 is the second symphony by Johannes Brahms, completed and premiered in 1877. Rooted in the late-Romantic orchestral tradition, the work is characterised by warm, lyrical themes, rich harmonic language and transparent orchestration, and it represents a consolidation of Brahms's symphonic technique following his First Symphony.
