Libertango is a studio album by Argentine bandoneonist Astor Piazzolla, released in 1974. Musically, it signalled a move in Piazzolla's work towards nuevo tango, blending traditional tango with jazz and classical elements through driving rhythms, expanded ensemble textures and prominent bandoneon lines, and sits within his mid-1970s output that advanced the development of modern tango.
