Moskva, Cheremushki is an operetta by Dmitri Shostakovich, first performed in 1958. The music combines light, melodic theatre writing with Shostakovich's characteristic orchestral colour, drawing on Soviet popular-song styles and jazz-inflected rhythms, and it stands in his late-1950s output as a comparatively buoyant, theatrical work created during the post-Stalin cultural thaw.
