Polonaises
Album by Fryderyk Chopin & Elisabeth Leonskaja
Polonaises is a collection of piano compositions by Frédéric Chopin, composed and published across the 1830s and 1840s. The pieces use Polish dance rhythms and national melodic gestures within Romantic piano writing; they pair stately tempo and dramatic figures with virtuosic piano textures and appear in Chopin's middle and late output as reflections of his use of Polish forms.
First released: February 1996
