Iberia / Cantos de España

Iberia / Cantos de España is a collection of piano works by Spanish composer Isaac Albéniz, with Iberia composed between 1905 and 1909 and Cantos de España originating in the late 19th century. The music draws on Spanish folk rhythms, modal harmonies and virtuosic piano writing to evoke regional colours and maps a progression in Albéniz's exploration of nationalistic Spanish idioms within his compositional career.
