Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1900 and first performed in 1901. The work blends late-Romantic orchestration with a comparatively light, chamber-like transparency and concludes with a final movement for soprano presenting a childlike vision, placing it as a relatively concise, song-inflected point in Mahler's symphonic output at the turn of the 20th century.
