Symphonies nos. 39, KV 543 and 40, KV 550 are symphonic works by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1788. They are part of Mozart's late symphonies and use classical forms and balanced orchestration with an increased role for wind instruments, appearing near the end of his career when his orchestral writing became more concentrated.
