Brandenburg Concertos 1-6
Album by Johann Sebastian Bach & Concentus Musicus Wien & Nikolaus Harnoncourt
The Brandenburg Concertos are a set of six instrumental concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, compiled and presented as a collection in 1721. They exemplify Baroque concerto and concerto grosso forms through diverse solo and ensemble combinations, contrapuntal textures and virtuosic writing, and they occupy a notable place in Bach's output as examples of his instrumental experimentation during his Köthen and Leipzig periods.
