Symphony No. 2 'St Florian' is the second symphony by Russian composer Alfred Schnittke, written in 1979. The music is rooted in late 20th-century modernism, with dense orchestration, abrupt shifts between tonal and atonal passages and nods to liturgical chant, and it follows his earlier polystylistic experiments by extending his orchestral range and structural contrasts.
