The Piano Concertos are two piano concertos by German composer Johannes Brahms, completed in 1858 and 1881. They combine Romantic orchestral richness with demanding pianistic writing, juxtaposing symphonic scope and lyrical passages; the first concerto reflects Brahms's early ambition in large-scale forms while the second demonstrates a later, more expansive and texturally refined approach in his mature career.
