Brandenburgische Konzerte Nos. 2, 4 and 6 are instrumental concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, composed and presented in 1721. They exemplify Baroque concerto grosso practice with contrasts between ripieno and solo forces, intricate counterpoint, varied and distinctive instrumentation and lively rhythmic drive, and form part of the larger Brandenburg collection compiled during Bach's Köthen period as demonstrations of instrumental technique and ensemble colour.
