Symphony no. 4
Album by Gustav Mahler & Lisa della Casa & Chicago Symphony Orchestra & Fritz Reiner
Symphony No. 4 is the fourth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1901. Featuring relatively lighter orchestration, transparent textures and a final movement with a soprano solo, it occupies a transitional place in Mahler's output as a late‑Romantic work that bridges his earlier pastoral tendencies and the more austere, complex symphonies that followed.
