Canon & Gigue
Album by Johann Pachelbel & The English Concert & Trevor Pinnock
Canon and Gigue are a pair of late 17th-century chamber works by German composer Johann Pachelbel, composed around 1694. They are in the Baroque style, use a repeating bass pattern with imitative upper parts, and form part of Pachelbel's chamber output that links southern German traditions to later Baroque textures.
