The Firebird: Russian Fairy Tale is a ballet score by Igor Stravinsky, composed in 1909–1910 and premiered in 1910. Its music combines Russian folk-derived melodies, striking rhythmic energy and colourful orchestration to create vivid orchestral tableaux, and the work marked a pivotal early point in Stravinsky's career that helped usher in new approaches to rhythm and orchestration in early 20th-century music.
