String Quintet, op. 163
Album by Franz Schubert & Fitzwilliam String Quartet & Christopher van Kampen
String Quintet, Op. 163 is a string quintet by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, completed in 1828. The work is part of the late Classical to early Romantic chamber repertoire and has expansive, lyrical lines, dense low-register writing for two cellos and a richly coloured harmonic language; it was written near the end of Schubert's life and is one of his last large-scale chamber pieces.
