The Planets is an orchestral suite by English composer Gustav Holst, completed between 1914 and 1916. Scored for large orchestra, it employs distinctive orchestral colours, bold rhythms and varied textures across its movements, and it represented a turning point in Holst's career that increased the visibility of his orchestral work.
