Israel in Egypt is an oratorio by Georg Friedrich Händel, first performed in 1739. The work is for chorus and orchestra, relies on fugal counterpoint and full choral textures, and comes after Handel's period of Italian opera as part of his move to English oratorio in the 1730s.
