Symphony no. 7
Album by Gustav Mahler & New York Philharmonic & Leonard Bernstein
Symphony No. 7 is the seventh symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1905. Scored for a large orchestra, it explores nocturnal atmospheres through contrasting sonorities, extended brass and string writing and episodic structures, and occupies a middle-to-late position in Mahler's symphonic output where he further develops his use of orchestral colour and expansive formal designs.
