Symphonie Fantastique
Album by Hector Berlioz & London Symphony Orchestra & Pierre Boulez
Symphonie fantastique is a program symphony by French composer Hector Berlioz, composed and first performed in 1830. The work employs vivid orchestration, recurring idée fixe motifs and programme-driven scenes to depict an autobiographical narrative and expanded the expressive and colouristic possibilities of nineteenth-century orchestral writing.
