Ungarische Rhapsodien

Album by Franz Liszt & Alfred Brendel

Ungarische Rhapsodien is a set of nineteen piano rhapsodies by Hungarian composer Franz Liszt, composed and published between 1846 and 1853. They draw on Hungarian folk and verbunkos melodies, employ virtuosic piano writing and contrasting slow–fast structures, and represent a notable phase in Liszt's middle-period exploration of national styles and expansion of pianistic technique.
