Serenade No. 1 is a serenade by Johannes Brahms, composed in 1857-58. The multi-movement orchestral work features lyrical melodies, transparent textures and classical forms infused with early Romantic harmonic language, and it occupies an early place in Brahms's orchestral output that foreshadows his later symphonic development.
